Who we are

This website is operated by Hypercritical Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, based in London, United Kingdom. This site is available to visitors worldwide, and we are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

We handle personal data in line with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other privacy laws that may apply to you depending on where you live.

What we collect

• Contact form. When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, company, reason, and message you provide.
• Analytics data. Subject to your cookie choice, Google Analytics collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), device and browser type, and how you navigate the site.
• Functional storage.We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser’s local storage. This is not a cookie, is never sent to us, and is not used to track you.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, implemented with Google Consent Mode v2. We never use analytics data for advertising or personalisation.

In the UK and EEA — and anywhere else consent is legally required — analytics cookies are set only after you accept via our cookie banner; until then, and if you reject, no analytics cookies are used. In other regions, analytics may run by default, and you can opt out at any time.

Either way, you can change or withdraw your choice whenever you like using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.

How we use your data

• To respond to enquiries you send through the contact form.
• To measure and improve how the website performs (with your consent).
• To maintain the security and integrity of the site.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

• Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiry and to keep the site secure and functioning.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Google (Google Analytics) — website analytics, only with your consent.
• Notion Labs, Inc. — securely stores contact-form submissions so we can respond.
• Microsoft (Azure) — hosting and delivery of the website.

International transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom, and some of our providers are located in other countries, including the United States. Wherever you access the site from, your data may therefore be processed outside your home country. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or an adequacy decision — to keep it protected.

How long we keep it

Contact-form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our ongoing relationship, then deleted. Analytics data is retained for the period configured in Google Analytics (up to 14 months) and reported only in aggregate.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete it; to restrict or object to its processing; and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Residents of some regions (for example, the EEA, the UK, and California) have specific statutory rights, and we honour valid requests regardless of where you are located. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk; in the EEA, your local supervisory authority.
